While implementing development programmes a need for the easy accessibility of gender related data with 'one window' approach, i.e. availability of gender related data from one place, has been expressed. At present some data is available at the Directorate of Economics and Statistics or in other relevant departments such as health related data in health and family welfare department or education related data in the Department of Education etc. However, it is not easily accessible to the concerned departments, individuals, organizations etc. neither do these departments have the priority to provide the data to the users. Therefore the policy makers and programme face immense difficulties to access the data for the need-based project planning for the existing programmes and to create new policies and programmes.
