Having started in the year 1919, the trust slowly and steadily made its presence felt in society with the efforts of "Pujya Chhaganbha". In the year 1977 Government of Gujarat invited the trust to set up educational institutions at Gandhinagar which would foster the development of the Capital City of Gujarat by allotting 13 acres of land in Sector 23.

Since then the trust has set up many educational institutions and hostels which have proved to be the backbone of the development of education in the State of Gujarat currently more than 36000 students are being educated at Gandhinagar Campus of which around 3500 students both boys & girls are staying in a hostel.
With a need to spread education further and develop a kind of professionalism in the young generation of Gujarat, the trust started the first self-financed college viz., KB Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research offering B. Pharm program with approval from AICTE in the year 1995. The journey of Sarva Vidyalaya continued further with the establishment of the S K Patel Institute of Management and Computer Studies offering MBA and MCA programs in the year 1998. The trust went on to establish other institutions offering BBA, BCA, B. Com (English Medium), B.Ed, P.T.C., and other vocational courses.
The trust has been cherishing the idea of establishing an Engineering College for some time and in 2004 this dream has become true with the allotment of 40000 sq.m of land by the Government of Gujarat in Sector 15.
The Engineering College viz., "Leelaben Dashrathbhai Ramdas Patel Institute of Technology and Research" has been granted approval by AICTE in June 2005 and today the "Sarva Vidyalaya Technology Campus" is taking full shape with more than 600 students enrolled. In the year 2006, a polytechnic college under the name and style "VPMP Polytechnic" has been granted approval by AICTE and the Government of Gujarat. In the year 2007 a University under the name and style "Kadi Sarva Vishwavidyalaya" has been established and a Nursing College under the name and style "Chanchalben Mafatlal Patel College of Nursing" has been established in 2008.
